At Philadelphia Area Sports Training (PHAST), I primarily focus on injury prevention as well as developing the strength I need to perform at the highest possible level. PHAST allows me to concentrate on certain aspects of my training and puts an emphasis on enhancement.
PHAST provides me with a customized program based on my sport and my needs, designed to increase mobility/flexibility, explosiveness, and my overall strength. Based on a full body assessment, testing benchmark numbers, the coaches at PHAST design a program to improve characteristics that specifically translate to the ice and my game. A key part to my offseason training is what Paul calls “undoing the damage.” The first month off of the ice at the end of the season is spent primarily focusing on my hip and ankle mobility. Given that hockey players spend 6-8 months in skates, they loose mobility in their joints. PHAST allows me to learn and understand more about my body and how to utilize it to the maximum!
At PHAST, I feel both confidence and comfortable pushing my body mentally and physically to its limits. The coaches at PHAST are my biggest supporters and are always there to lean on. The environment established in the gym makes it easy to train to get better everyday!
I have trained at PHAST for a little over 2 years now. I train 3x per week through out the summer including 2 days of strength training paired with 1 day speed work. In season, I focus on my injury prevention, maintaining strength, and mobility.
